OMMISSIONS
- Teddy would provide the cucumbers for the national day breakfast fundraiser
- Sister Mary, Mary John and Nichola would bring coal pots.
- Nichola would bring a tent.
- Permission may not be needed for having fire.
MATTERS ARISING
- Clarita volunteered to prepare the cocoa tea.
- 100 tickets have been printed for the breakfast fundraiser.
- Colour ink is needed for the printer at the society’s office.
- Sister Mary has delivered the donation letter to Green. Beverlyn will deliver to Super J- La Tourney and Mary John will deliver to Transcaribbean.
- The $10 bag sale was successful. Revenue collected amounted to $380. The event will be repeated on Saturday 7th December, 2013. Help was needed for sorting out. Bobby and Chris volunteered to help out.
- Flyers have been created advertising the event.
- Christine felt that a shop sign was needed stating what the shop had to offer. She also suggested that business cards and flyers were needed.
- Tyler St. Catherine suggested the society should dialogue with Love FM for free advertisement for the shop.
- Beverlyn stated that more publicity was needed for the shop.
- Christine suggested a fashion show could be held advertising the clothes in the shop. Beverlyn suggested the fundraising committee look into the idea.
- Chris Volney volunteered to work with Bobby in getting a shop sign painted.
- The venue is Cuthy’s Bar.
- Date is December 20th at 8pm
- Everyone can bring something to share.
- Beverlyn suggested also that a gift should be brought to the event.
- Two reports were provided: see attachment at the end of the minutes.
- The 8tickets @75 was an error under income for the gala dinner.
- Beverlyn queried the $200 allocated for cleaning shop. The treasurer informed members this was for the cleaner, namely Sharon Felicien.
- The amounted quoted for LIME was due to the installation fee (internet), Beverlyn informed members based on a query by Brenda.
- Pictures are needed for the society’s website.
- An event was needed for children. Suggestions were given namely a Christmas party, helping out St. Judes, lunch at special Education Center. A final decision was not made.
- Ed mentioned that persons in the community are asking why nothing seems to be happening with the Childrens Society. Beverlyn responded that she was in contact with crown lands to determine when the land would be official leased to the society.
- Beverlyn reported that she is in contact with Petrus Compton who would be an asset to the society particularly in legal matters.
- Date for the next meeting was noted as January 13th 2014

Jounen Kweyol Breakfast

Meeting began with prayers by Sister Mary Lee Cox.
Mary John approved the minutes of the last meeting and Susie Chatburn seconded.
Matters arising
- Chris raised concerns regarding the relationship
between the society and the Defoe foundation. His main concern was the
relationship had not not been formalized. Beverlyn will attempt to meet with
representatives of the Defoe foundation via Skype to resolve this issue.
- Sister Mary has not meet with Sister Antonio who
has been out of state.
Jounen Kweyol Breakfast
- The name has been changed to National Day
Breakfast. The date for this activity is slated for December 14th
2013.
- Sister and Bobby will work on tickets.
- Mary John will prepare the fish cakes and souse.
- Nichola volunteered to get her mom to prepare
the fried bakes and grapefruit juice, also to find out the cost to prepare
black pudding.
- Lindy will prepare the roast bakes and golden
apple juice
- Sister Mary will get three avocados
- Susie will prepare sour orange juice.
- Chris and Carol will prepare passion fruit juice
- Transcaribbean, Super J La Tourney and Green
were target for donations. The secretary will write the necessary letters to
these business places. The following items will be asked for- onion, herring,
saltfish, flour, oil
- The breakfast event is slated to begin from 5 am
- A $10 bag event has been proposed for the flea
market.
- The electricity is being worked on at the shop
